As an Electrical Engineer Associate, you will work on cross‑functional teams to develop and drive overall electrical engineering (EE) projects to meet Goodyear Product Performance Insights (PPI) objectives. This role is central to improving our operational infrastructure by focusing on the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our test equipment. The candidate will have expertise in modern control systems, power distribution, and a deep commitment to implementing robust safety standards across our test labs.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Design and develop new products, processes, and methods that meet and exceed internal and external customer requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify solutions and communicate actionable insights to the team.
- Act as a trusted technical resource, providing support and guidance to internal teams, manufacturing facilities, and tire manufacturers.
- Apply advanced tools and processes to assess and optimize products, methods, and workflows for improved results.
- Expand technical expertise and enhance position‑specific skills through ongoing professional development and knowledge building.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on engineering experience, product development, process improvement, or technical support roles.
- Experience with PLC programming platforms (e.g., Rockwell Automation/Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) for designing electrical systems.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Hands‑on experience in tire development and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to apply advanced scientific methodologies to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Goodyear associates and customers.
- Proven ability to work in cross‑functional teams and embrace new challenges with a proactive mindset.
- Demonstrated accountability by proactively taking ownership of assigned tasks and team outcomes.
- Influenced collaboration by offering alternative perspectives and supporting team success.
- Developed and executed effective strategies to meet objectives and improve results.
