Plant Support Engineer - Electrical

Supporting a broad range of distribution systems, including 24

VDC - 240

VDC, 120

VAC to 345kVAC, and supported loads. Familiarity with relay protection, motors, and generators is desirable. The role involves complex troubleshooting, equipment condition assessment, and support for minor design changes.

Responsibilities
  • Support resolution of emergent, short cycle, and near-term engineering work, maintaining the work week schedule.
  • Act as the engineering point of contact for online work schedule execution and resolving online engineering holds.
  • Support operability processes, including input and follow-up evaluations.
  • Conduct post-work testing and provide technical support for maintenance and operational challenges.
  • Assist in planning emergent questions and in-field activities.
  • Support complex troubleshooting, including FMEA and problem verification.
  • Prepare minor design modifications and lead interpretation of complex issues.
  • Coordinate projects and initiatives through completion.
  • Ensure safety policies are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Prepare reports with recommendations for resolving complex issues.
  • Participate in or lead special projects and committees.
  • Perform electrical-specific tasks such as protective device sizing, cable sizing, and motor sizing/analysis.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
    • At least 2 years of related job experience.
    • Proficient in standard Windows programs (Excel, Word, etc.).
    • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to influence and establish effective relationships across organizational boundaries.
    • In-depth understanding of power plant equipment and systems.
    • Ability to evaluate technical alternatives considering economic impact.
    • Systematic problem-solving skills for complex issues.
