Education:

In at least the 2nd year of a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline - positions within Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Engineering

Location:

Akron, Ohio

Co-op Rotation:
After completion of a co-op semester/session, the co-op will be rotated to another engineering department for future sessions, if applicable. The candidate shall be adaptable to different areas of engineering.

General:
Applies standard industry techniques/methods & criteria to the solution of engineering problems, completes tasks assigned by the manager & engineers, carries out special projects as assigned

Control Systems Co-op (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, & Computer)

Systems Engineering (Aerospace or Mechanical)

Provides support for design, development, validation, testing, & verification of hydro-mech & electro-mech systems

* Responsible for Braking /Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems Requirements / Design, development of system-level requirements to meet customer specifications for multi-domain systems (e.g. hardware, software, mechanical, hydraulic)

* Requirements validation (e.g. traceability, simulation, analysis & review)

* System Integration
- Hardware In the Loop (HIL) System Integration Testing & System Requirements Verification

* Flight Test Support, analysis of aircraft test data & development of associated test tools (e.g. Simulink.)

* Modeling including the use of tools such as MATLAB/Simulink in order to develop simulation models of aircraft, aircraft systems & individual hydraulic & electrical components

* Control Algorithm Development- developing & tuning of control algorithms associated with Brake Control, E-brake Control & Nose Wheel Steering

* Prepare & review documentation: technical specifications & reports, design documents, user guides, work instructions, test plans/procedures

Software Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer)

Responsible for software development, validation, & verification of hydro-mechanical & electro-mechanical systems (Brake Control & Tire Pressure Monitoring)

* Development of software-level requirements to meet customer specifications for multi-domain systems (e.g. hardware, software, mechanical, hydraulic)

* Validation of software-level requirements (e.g. traceability, simulation, analysis & review)

* Hardware Software Integration (HSI) testing

* Model Simulation testing

* Flight Certification Support: analysis of aircraft performance data / fault data

* Modeling including the use of tools such as SCADE/SCADE Test to develop software for flight, and simulation models of aircraft systems & individual hydraulic & electrical components

* Prepare & review documentation: technical specifications & reports, design documents, user guides, work instructions, test plans/procedures

Control Components Engineering (Aerospace or Mechanical)

Focused on controls components, development of and resolving issues with suppliers for sensors, valves, & tire pressure monitoring systems

* Responsible for implementing design changes to existing components; production clarification, obsolescence, improvements in reliability and performance

* Creating design and development test plans for changes requiring retest. These tests can be endurance, performance, vibration, fluids, electro-mechanical interference, design assurance special tests, and systems integration tests.

* Responsible for investigations of returned components, following components through to production acceptance testing, measurements, and teardown, submitting tear down reports with root cause to our customers.

* Responsible for working with quality and our suppliers for recommending and implementing product improvements addressing the identified root cause(s).

* Supporting internal valve re-design improvement efforts, engineering certification test plan development and support of testing, release of certification test reports, and release of stop orders to allow production of the new component.

* Support production with components not passing testing or having non-compliance issues with requirements

* Cost reduction efforts for components, reducing and streamlining production acceptance testing.

* Review/prepare engineering change documentation

Electronics Development & Test Engineering Co-op (Electrical or Aerospace)

Focused on development of electrical hardware & engineering process documentation per Parker Meggitt standard, testing of hardware

* Applying basic electrical engineering principles and analysis to the resolution of technical problems such as circuit analysis and troubleshooting.

* Supporting test programs to validate performance meets products requirements designs

* Supporting project deliverables such as documentation, drawings, wiring diagrams, reports, etc.

* Working with electrical test equipment such as digital multi-meter (DMM), oscilloscope, function generator, power supplies, etc.
