We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry.
Highlights- Interesting projects ranging from infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and unique engineering, typically focused on DOT-related roadway and airport/runway.
- Projects located within a 60‑90 mile radius of the company office, with minimal travel; overnight travel is rare.
- Potential company vehicle or reimbursement for personal vehicle use.
- Role based out of Brunswick (southern Cleveland) or Akron office, depending on preference/location.
- Perform geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, slope stability assessments, and risk evaluations for developments.
- Train and supervise lab technicians; maintain quality reviews and certifications; manage equipment inventory and calibration; handle client marketing and proposal preparation.
- Train and develop less-experienced Engineers (EIs and new PEs).
- Act as North Ohio Department Manager, overseeing operations, P&L, scheduling and serving in both production and management capacity.
- Track project progress in timeline and budget/profit‑loss capacities.
- Assist Marketing with technical aspects in generating proposals.
- Oversee quality of work (QA/QC).Provide direction on a project‑by‑project basis: prepare lab testing assignments, review documents, and verify testing results.
- Prepare geotechnical engineering reports.
- Interact with clients on technical aspects.
- Review soils laboratory test results.
- Assist in planning and executing subsurface investigation programs, including understanding design plans, locating test borings, and coordinating underground utility clearance.
- Develop design and analysis of earth embankments, retaining structures, anchoring systems.
- Perform analysis and design of shallow and deep foundations and slope stability evaluations.
- Monitor and enforce quality control standards and specifications.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read design drawings.
- Ability to meet schedules.
- Experience with common geotechnical software or quick learning ability.
- Self‑motivated, reliable, quality minded, and detail oriented.
- 12+ years of experience in consulting engineering on various civil projects.
- P.E. credentialing is required.
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is a plus.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Willing to travel and physically able to maneuver on open terrain.
