Tool & Mold Designer — Akron, OH, US

Experience:

Mid Level
• Salary: $30 - $40 per hour

• Create complete tooling designs based on input from engineering leadership, project managers, or provided concept layouts
• Develop tooling concepts from initial layouts through finalized 3D models and manufacturing-ready documentation
• Review customer specifications, standards, and scopes of work to ensure designs meet all requirements
• Support design projects through completion, including revisions and updates as needed
• Apply Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) principles throughout the design process
• Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D models in accordance with internal design standards
• Maintain clear documentation of design decisions, revisions, and customer or internal communications

• Minimum 3 years of tooling design experience in one or more of the following areas:
  Plastic injection molds and dies;
  Aerospace tooling;
  Housewares or industrial tooling
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as NX, Solid Works, CATIA, or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and machining fundamentals
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based engineering environment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel

• Experience with Siemens NX / Unigraphics
• Hands-on exposure to machining or manufacturing environments
