LUZCO is looking for an organized, motivated, and collaborative Assistant Project Manager to support utility and construction-related projects from kickoff through completion. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys fast‑paced work, problem‑solving, and coordinating moving pieces while developing long‑term project management skills. As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll work closely with senior project managers, engineers, clients, contractors, and field teams to help keep projects on track, organized, and moving forward.
This position is designed to provide hands‑on exposure to all aspects of project management, with opportunities to gradually take ownership of projects over time. This role is typically 80% office-based and 20% field-based, with travel to project sites within a 1–3 hour radius of the reporting location.
- Support Project Managers across multiple active projects from inception to completion
- Review initial project scopes and assist in developing project work plans with engineering teams and clients
- Coordinate outage requests and sequencing plans with internal teams and contractors
- Assist with procurement coordination for major and minor material/equipment needs
- Coordinate environmental and non-environmental permitting review and submittals
- Help prepare RFP packages, scopes of work, baseline schedules, and bid documentation
- Participate in contractor bid evaluations and award recommendations
- Facilitate or assist with pre‑construction and project progress meetings
- Track project schedules, milestones, budgets, and financial forecasts
- Maintain project documentation and navigate client systems for project tracking and reporting
- Communicate project updates related to schedule, costs, procurement, safety, and construction progress
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and field teams
- Spend time in the field to stay engaged with project progress and better understand project scopes
