Job Overview

The Data Center Operations Engineer is responsible for delivery of best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure (UPS, MV electrical systems, generators, cooling systems, etc.). The role includes preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire and life safety, and building automation systems. Duties also encompass equipment inspections, lubrication, testing, adjustments, repair, and project work across multiple system categories.

Union Facility Engineer, probationary period of 90 days. The pay table (CBU) is governed by the Communications Workers of America (CWA) agreement; applicants are expected to become a member of the CWA after probation. Shift assignment is based on seniority and bi‑weekly shift bidding. Current bid schedule:

• Nights: 11:30 PM – 7:30 AM
• Afternoons: 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM
• Days: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Shift differential: 10 % for all hours worked on Afternoon & Night shifts.

Maximum starting compensation (per CBA) is $52.15 per hour, dependent on initial interview assessment.
