Structural Project Engineer - Akron, OH - JOB 26-00330

Salary Range:
$72,000 – $100,000 Full-time Permanent Position with Benefits

Seeking a Structural Project Engineer for a leading Engineering Firm in the Akron, Ohio area. This is a dynamic role blending Construction Financial Management, Field Engineering, and Structural Design Interpretation.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Financial Stewardship:
    Monitor and forecast project costs; manage force accounts, monthly pay applications, and subcontractor purchase orders.
  • Operational Leadership:
    Review and approve craft timecards and cost codes; generate weekly man-hour reports to ensure project efficiency.
  • Technical Documentation:
    Maintain RFI logs, submittal schedules, and As-Built drawings. Ensure all shop drawings align with project specifications.
  • Field Coordination:
    Conduct weekly site inspections, capture progress photography, and verify work-in-place quantities for accurate invoicing.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    Facilitate "Toolbox Talks " and safety investigations.
  • Ensure all work meets local/federal codes and DBE compliance status.
  • Stakeholder Liaison:
    Direct correspondence between Architects, Owners, and Subcontractors to resolve changing contract conditions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

    B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering Technology.
  • Technical Literacy:
    Mastery of construction plans/specs and proficiency in project management software (Procore, Primavera, or similar).
  • Financial Acumen:
    Proven ability to perform accurate material takeoffs and cost analysis.
  • Soft Skills:

    High-level organizational skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Licensure: EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred
