Roledescription
Arcadis seeks to hire a Senior Roadway Design Engineer to join the team in the Cleveland, Columbus, or Akron location. In this position, you will lead and direct the development and design of infrastructure projects for roadways, including intersections, collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates and interstate interchanges.
Responsibilities- You have the opportunity to perform different roles on multi-disciplined projects including technical design, production lead, task leader, and assisting Project Manager and lead engineers.
- Participate in a client-facing role, either as a team or individual, making presentations and managing client expectations.
- Project development experience includes working as an individual or through team efforts to assist in developing project scopes and budgets, interfacing with and maintaining client needs for the Project Manager, mentoring and developing junior staff and designers, developing project plans, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring compliance with Arcadis practices including quality and safety standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 10 or more years’ relevant engineering experience including supervision of elements of large, complex projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE).
- Engineering experience with infrastructure design and construction engineering, including cost estimates, technical reports, construction plans, and project displays.
- Proficiency with CAD, particularly Civil3D, Microstation, and experience with Open Roads software.
- Familiarity with ODOT design standards and policies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to contribute information to meetings, assist with effective client presentations, and prepare written reports and meeting minutes.
- Ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; self‑motivated, team-oriented, flexible, with initiative to tackle new projects, challenges, and concepts.
- Ohio PE.
- Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
- Experience in maintenance of traffic design.
- Experience in traffic signals design.
- Experience in roadway drainage design.

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $120,000 – $150,000.
Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
