Senior Internal Auditor

Participates in the execution of a holistic audit approach integrating process/operational/information technology audits and data analytics to evaluate Signet’s internal control environment.

• Execute process/operational/integrated audits and special projects to analyze and evaluate risks and controls supporting key business operations, systems, and related processes, including those related to company objectives and strategic initiatives.
• Develop risk‑based audit approach, plan, conduct fieldwork, and report audit work, evaluating key risks and establishing audit objectives to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
• Identify changes to company processes and systems, emerging risks/trends, and adjust audit plans to maximize audit resources.
• Document and flow‑chart processes, complete walkthroughs and design assessments, and perform control effectiveness testing with appropriate supervision.
• Participate in advisory projects related to pre‑ and post‑implementation of systems, processes, and strategic initiatives to ensure a strong internal control environment.
• Identify and assess the impact of control deficiencies, conduct root cause analysis, and prepare audit findings using advanced writing skills.
• Collaborate with management and leadership to develop corrective actions, remediation, and process‑improvement recommendations, and present findings to obtain agreement on remediation through status updates and closing meetings.
• Follow up on management’s action plan and participate in onboarding activities.
• Assist with department audit training and the development/implementation of policies and procedures.
• Stay abreast of best practices, emerging professional standards, regulatory initiatives, accounting and retail industry trends, and threats, and act as a conduit for introducing these to the company and IA department.
• Advocate standard audit practice and methodology, ensuring quality and consistency in accordance with IIA standards.
• Assume responsibility in the development of the annual audit plan by identifying risk areas and audits/projects for inclusion.
• Support and/or lead data analytics projects, identify areas where data analytics can augment the annual audit plan, and suggest opportunities for automation to increase efficiency.
• Apply data analytics to interpret results, identify trends, root causes, and potential remediation.
• Provide consultative input on major change initiatives as part of the company’s strategic initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline; CPA, CIA, CISA certification preferred.
• 3–5 years audit experience, preferably in accounting firm, internal audit, or retail industry.
• Experience with GAAP and/or auditing requirements.
• Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong data analytics / AI experience.
• Creative and innovative thinking; ability to execute in a dynamic, fast‑paced and high‑demand environment.

• Local to Akron, OH area and able to work on‑site for a hybrid schedule.
