Overview
As a Payroll Accounting Analyst, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our outsourced tax filing provider, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. You will support payroll tax reporting, reconciliations, accounting activities, audits, and process improvements while partnering with Payroll, HR, Finance, and external agencies.
What You'll Do- Ensure accurate and timely filing and payment of payroll taxes.
- Monitor tax filing status and maintain compliance across jurisdictions.
- Research and resolve tax discrepancies, notices, and payment issues.
- Serve as the primary contact for tax agencies and outsourced tax providers.
- Perform payroll tax reconciliations, including SUI and quarterly filings.
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations, SOX controls, and company policies.
- Support accounting activities, financial reporting, audits, and internal controls.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and external providers to improve processes and ensure accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of payroll tax, payroll accounting, accounting, or financial analysis experience.
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and US GAAP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing multi-state payroll tax compliance.
- Experience working directly with tax agencies and resolving tax notices.
- Knowledge of payroll tax filing platforms and outsourced tax providers.
- Experience supporting audits, SOX controls, and compliance initiatives.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement mindset.
