Role Description

Arcadis is currently searching for a Financial Management Consultant with at least 5 years’ experience to work with our Financial Advisory Services (FAS) Practice. The preferred location for this position is Ohio, working from one of Arcadis’ offices in Columbus, Toledo, or Akron. This position requires a professional with financial and/or accounting expertise to lead, manage, and grow a variety of financial services engagements in the utilities industry, primarily the municipal water and wastewater market.

The professional will lead financial project engagements, assist in the growth of our financial advisory services practice in the mid‑west, and participate in regional industry events. Responsibilities include project management, completion, and business development efforts.

Role Accountabilities
  • Develop financial and economic models and conduct utility rate studies, utility pricing models, valuations, and other financial studies.
  • Run financial models to develop revenue/operating expense scenarios in support of project and program financing.
  • Participate in and lead business development efforts such as project scoping, proposal development, and selection interviews.
  • Maintain and increase professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, studying market trends and reviewing professional publications both regionally and nationally.
  • Actively participate in association meetings/conferences and support thought leadership efforts. Participate and lead meetings with clients, support sales and preparation of proposals, and prepare written reports.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, internal staff and managers to build relationships and develop financial services opportunities and sales.
  • Lead and manage a variety of consulting engagements within the utilities industry, focusing on financial planning and utility pricing engagements with municipal government clients.
  • Engage frequently with the financial advisory pool of Consultants and Analysts providing mentorship, leadership, and expanding the pool’s technical capabilities.
  • Provide expertise and leadership in developing financial and rate models, financial studies, valuations, or government regionalization/consolidation assignments to plan and develop solutions for clients. Plan and develop business cases and strategies to support project needs.
  • Travel in the US and periodically internationally, up to 25% of the time.
Required Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of financial management consulting delivery experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or an Engineering discipline.
Key Skills and Attributes
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to apply logic to solve problems.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously with strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field of study.
  • Experience with project management and client management.
  • Experience with financial modeling and pricing studies for municipal, industrial, state and/or federal clients. Prior experience with utility rate studies, developing financial models, asset management, bond issuance support, and/or other utilities consulting.
  • Prior experience managing clients or in a client-facing role; participation in client interviews, creating presentations and presenting at meetings individually or as part of a team and managing client expectations.
  • Experience mentoring and leading staff and teams.
  • CPA, CFA, PMP and/or PE Registration/Certification.
Benefits

The salary range for this position is $83,000 - $125,000. Benefits for full-time and part-time positions include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401(k), STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program, and optional wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. Arcadis offers nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year.
