The Senior Internal Auditor participates in the execution of a holistic audit approach integrating process, operational and information technology audits and data analytics to evaluate Signet’s internal control environment. The auditor is an independent, strong starter with attention to detail, drive to accomplish goals, and focus on quality results. They possess strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, work with cross‑functional teams, executive presence, and the capability to develop relationships and promote internal audit throughout the organization as a trusted business advisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in the execution of process, operational, and integrated audits, and special projects to analyze and evaluate risks and controls to support key business operations, systems, and related processes, including those related to company objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Develops risk‑based audit approaches, plans, conducts fieldwork, tests controls, and reports audit findings, including evaluating key risks, establishing audit objectives, and producing audit programs to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Partakes in advisory projects related to pre/post implementation of systems, processes, and strategic initiatives to ensure a strong internal control environment.
  • Identifies and assesses control deficiencies, conducts root‑cause analysis, prepares audit findings, and collaborates with management to develop corrective and remediation actions. Presents findings and recommendations to management, obtains agreement, and follows up on action plans.
  • Participates in onboarding and assists with department audit training.
  • Helps develop and implement policies and procedures to achieve department objectives, staying abreast of best practices, regulatory initiatives, accounting and retail industry trends, and emerging threats.
  • Advocates standard audit practice and methodology, ensuring quality and consistency in accordance with IIA standards.
  • Supports and/or leads data analytics projects, identifies opportunities for automation, and incorporates analytics into the audit methodology.
  • Provides consultative input on major change initiatives as part of company strategic projects.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline; CPA, CIA, CISA certification preferred.
  • Experience in accounting firm or internal audit, or equivalent retail industry experience, with GAAP and/or auditing requirements.
  • 3–5 years of audit experience required.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong data analytics and AI experience.
  • Creative and innovative thinking.
  • Ability to execute in a dynamic, fast‑paced, high‑demand environment and possess executive presence.
  • Must be local to the Akron, OH area and able to work on‑site under a hybrid schedule.
