CONTROLLER / CFO (CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER) (Permanent)

Our client, an established manufacturing company in the N. Towns of Buffalo, NY, is looking to hire a Controller / CFO (the CEO is open to titles). This position reports to the CEO who is a fantastic leader! This is the sole Accounting/Finance employee that will work closely with an outsourced public accounting firm and have some internal support from employees who have cross-trained.

Responsibilities
  • Daily oversight and management of all financial reporting processes and asset protection
  • Collaborate with the CEO to improve financial policies and procedures to continue driving the company’s growth
  • Manage daily processes of Accounts Payables/Receivables and Journal Entries to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Ensure accurate Profit and Loss (P&L) statements
  • Produce financial forecasts and budgets
  • Prepare financials and present to executive team
  • Work closely with outsourced accounting firm; prepare information for taxes, audits, valuation reporting, etc.
  • Complete month-end, quarterly-end, and year-end
  • Oversee all bank transactions and reconciliation of accounts
  • Analyze and identify discrepancies, issues, etc.; reconcile, rectify, and come up with solutions
  • Advise leadership team of potential risks in the financial reporting process
  • Work closely with multiple departments and build relationships
  • Instrumental in a new ERP system implementation: set up accounting/finance processes, controls, reports, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
Details
  • Position is full-time, direct hire; 100% in-office
  • $140,000-$175,000 annually depending on experience + profit sharing and bonus

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance;
    Master’s Degree a plus
  • 7+ years’ relevant accounting experience
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proactive & takes initiative
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize; good time management skills
  • Relocation not available
