If you ARE OPOTC certified with experience from another Law Enforcement Agency, you may qualify for higher starting pay and additional paid leave. See the incentives below. You may also be eligible to purchase up to an additional 60 hours of leave time.

• Years of outside qualifying Law Enforcement experience < 1:
  Starting annual pay $71,968.00;
  Leave Time after graduation from Akron’s Fast Track Academy: n/a;
  Paid Leave Accrual Rate: 4.0 hrs./week
• Year 1:
  Starting annual pay $75,649.60;
  Leave Time after graduation: 40 hours paid leave;
  Paid Leave Accrual Rate: 4.0 hrs./week
• Year 2:
  Starting annual pay $79,705.60;
  Leave Time after graduation: 80 hours paid leave;
  Paid Leave Accrual Rate: 4.0 hrs./week
• Year 3:
  Starting annual pay $84,052.80;
  Leave Time after graduation: 80 hours paid leave;
  Paid Leave Accrual Rate: 4.0 hrs./week
• Year 4:
  Starting annual pay $84,052.80;
  Leave Time after graduation: 80 hours paid leave;
  Paid Leave Accrual Rate: 4.0 hrs./week
• Year 5+:
  Starting annual pay $84,052.80;
  Leave Time after graduation: 80 hours paid leave;
  Paid Leave Accrual Rate: 4.60 hrs./week
