Registered X-Ray Technologist : Orthopedics

Overview

Travel Required The Registered X-ray Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures in an orthopedic and sports medicine outpatient pediatric setting. This role focuses on providing high-quality images to support orthopedic evaluation and treatment while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and care.

Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Onsite 4 days/week

• Performs all radiologic procedures to produce high quality imaging for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age specific needs.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
• Performs clerical duties in RIS, WFM (PACS), Power Share, and hospital computer systems as required.
• Follows all QA/QC guidelines for equipment.
• Directly supervises and assists affiliated radiography students.
• Ensures radiation safety standards and ALARA principles in all imaging procedures.
• Other duties as required.

• Experience in general radiographic/fluoroscopy examinations preferred.
• Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Experience in RIS, PACS, EPIC or other related software is preferred.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
• Certification:
  Radiologic Technologist licensure is required. Certified to practice in Ohio is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) AHA certification is required.
• Years of relevant experience:
  Orthopedic pediatric imaging is preferred but not required.
• Years of experience supervising:
  None.

The orthopedic and sports medicine radiologic technologist will image within the outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinics throughout the Akron Children s Hospital system. Travel to locations within the system is required.
