The Residential Home Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a residential home serving individuals with developmental disabilities. This position ensures that services are delivered in accordance with agency policies, state regulations, and individual service plans. The Residential Home Supervisor provides direct supervision, training, and support to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), ensures the health and safety of residents, and promotes a person-centered, supportive living environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program and Staff Supervision- Supervise, schedule, and provide leadership to Direct Support Professionals assigned to the home.
- Conduct staff performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage and coordinate substitute staff when needed.
- Provide orientation and ongoing training to new and existing staff on policies, procedures, and individual support needs.
- Ensure residents’ health, safety, and welfare at all times.
- Monitor implementation of each resident’s Individual Service Plan (ISP)
- Support residents in achieving personal goals, promoting independence, and participating in community activities.
- Oversee administration of medications and ensure compliance with medication management procedures.
- Communicate with families, guardians, and interdisciplinary team members as needed regarding resident progress and concerns.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation including progress notes, incident reports, attendance, and staff logs.
- Assists residents with managing personal finances and follows monetary guidelines in client ISPs.
- Conduct regular home inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing standards.
- Maintains resident and staff schedules for activities of daily living, appointments, and community integration.
- Ensure home maintenance needs are promptly addressed.
- Ensure compliance with all agency policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Participate in audits, reviews, and team meetings as requested.
- Promote a positive, inclusive environment that upholds dignity, respect, and choice for all residents.
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in field of providing services to individuals with disabilities.
- At least one year of supervisory experience.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with less than 6 points.
- Must be able to push, pull, or lift to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to implement behavior support procedures.
- Work is performed both in an office setting and residential home environment.
- Available to work a flexible schedule to include weekday evenings and weekends.
- Safety risks include potential violence of clients in crisis.
