Summary:

Assumes responsibility for analyzing business needs, defining requirements, developing solutions, implementing changes, troubleshooting, testing, managing, and supporting installed applications of assigned revenue cycle applications. Seeks to improve efficiencies and best practice standards in revenue cycle solutions and functionality within healthcare to increase revenue and reduce costs.

Formal

Education Required:

a. bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Management, Information Services, or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and relevant work experience in healthcare

b. Business-related or medical-related courses are preferred.

Experience and Training

Required:

a. Four (4) years' experience in healthcare information systems within a healthcare environment including experience with supporting third-party revenue cycle applications integrated with Epic preferred, including but not limited to OnBase, 3M, and Experian based on the organization's needs.

b. Will be required to certify in one or more Epic revenue cycle applications and maintain certification and NVTs.

c. Certification, and build experience preferred with revenue cycle applications based on the needs of the department and organization. Other Skills,

a. Possesses skill in interpersonal communication to effectively interact with users on various software and non-technical problems.

b. Possesses written and verbal communication skills to compose materials for end-user and communicate effectively.

c. Knowledge and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, e-mail and scheduling applications, and ability to acquire additional skills.

d. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, and financial records.

e. Ability to work well within a team environment by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback; supporting team goals and encouraging other team members; and collaborating with departmental team members to consolidate work, solve problems, create new methods, and/or reduce costs.

f. Ability to understand application functionality and how it relates to departments.

g. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

i. Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail.

Level of Physical Demands:

a. Sit for prolonged periods of time.

b. Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force continuously.

c. Manual dexterity to operate computer, phone, virtual meetings, and standard office machines.
