Job Overview
Haven Home Care is hiring Home Health Aides in Summit County, Ohio. The role involves providing in‑home personal care, assistance with bathing, dressing, meals, light cleaning, errands, and companionship for older adults. You will not administer medication or perform medical tasks.
CompensationBase hourly pay: $18/hour for STNA license holders (active or expired); $16‑18/hour for HHA certificate holders or candidates with relevant experience, determined by interview
; $16/hour for candidates completing free training
; $19‑20/hour when you refer and care for a private‑pay client
. An additional 10 % is added to pay on holidays. Pay is disbursed every two weeks by direct deposit on a W‑2 basis.
Drive time between clients is paid; drive time to the first or last client of the day is not.
Raises & IncentivesThree scheduled performance raises: 90‑day review (+$0.50/hour), 1‑year review (+$0.50/hour), 2‑year review (+$1.00/hour). The full stack yields a $2.00/hour increase over the first two years. Missed reviews carry over to the next review period. Example progression:
Initial $16/hour → $16.50 after 90 days → $17.00 after one year → $18.00 after two years.
Additional bonuses: $100 for perfect attendance during the first 30 days; $300 for referring a caregiver who stays, with tiers of $100 at 60 hours and $200 at 200 hours; $75‑$1,500 for referring a private‑pay client based on the client’s hours.
How You Earn Raises- Showing Up

- Staying in Touch
- Answer office calls and texts promptly
- Submit updated documents when requested (insurance, license, training)
- Complete feedback forms when sent
- Path 1: STNA License – $18/hour. Requires an Ohio STNA license (active or expired). Application involves a phone talk, short questionnaire, signing paperwork, online orientation, and fingerprinting.
- Path 2: HHA Certificate – $16‑18/hour (determined by interview). Requires an HHA certificate, 30+ hours, signed by an RN. Process includes phone talk, questionnaire, HHA competency test, paperwork, orientation, and fingerprinting.
- Path 3:
Licensed Nurse Experience – $16‑18/hour. Requires one or more years of experience under an RN or LPN supervisor at a nursing home, hospital, skilled home‑health agency, or assisted living with licensed nurses. Verification is conducted by direct phone calls to former employers. - Path 4:
No Experience (free training) – $16/hour. Requires willingness to help people. Includes a free 32‑hour online HHA training program, HHA test, paperwork, orientation, and fingerprinting.
Ohio law requires Home Health Aides to have either training or supervised experience under a licensed nurse. Verification involves confirming dates, length of employment, and supervisor’s RN/LPN status. Employers use direct phone verification or, if unavailable, the candidate may pursue the free training path.
Candidate Qualifications- Valid driver’s license
- Own vehicle with insurance covering work duties
- Passed background check
- Minimum 20 hours per week
- Availability between 6 AM and 8 PM (most shifts are 8 AM‑5 PM)
- Legal right to work in the United States
- At least 18 years of age
Provide hands‑on assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light cleaning, errands, and companionship. The work is physically demanding; caregivers spend the majority of the day on their feet. No medication administration is required.
