Collection Representative, Revenue Cycle Billing Operations
Full-Time Days – Summa's Corporate Office, 1077 Gorge Blvd, Akron, OH
Salary: $19.23/hr – $23.08/hr

SummaryAnalyzes all account delinquencies and account activity to ensure timely and accurate payments from the appropriate payers; contacts appropriate patients or third parties for collection; investigates and recommends alternative payment options.
Education & Experience- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- One to two years of college preferred
- Two years experience in a healthcare environment or at least two years in the collection field
- Proven sales ability considered a plus
- Basic knowledge of patient accounting procedures and hospital policies
- General knowledge of third‑party payers, collection laws, FDCPA rulings, and collection processes
- Experience with automated collection systems
- Knowledge of skip‑tracing techniques
- Working knowledge of hospital patient accounting procedures, computers, calculators, telephones, and other equipment used in the Patient Financial Services area
- Professional, ethical representation of Summa Health System
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish productive working relationships
- Team‑player with the ability to work productively as part of a team
- Independent decision‑making and critical thinking
- Analytical problem‑solving skills for patient account resolution
- Proficiency with standardized PC software
- Confidentiality of patient, employee, and financial information
- Ability to interact respectfully with diverse patient/customer populations
Sedentary. Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount frequently.
