Collection Representative, Revenue Cycle Billing Operations

Full-Time Days – Summa's Corporate Office, 1077 Gorge Blvd, Akron, OH

Salary: $19.23/hr – $23.08/hr

Summary

Analyzes all account delinquencies and account activity to ensure timely and accurate payments from the appropriate payers; contacts appropriate patients or third parties for collection; investigates and recommends alternative payment options.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • One to two years of college preferred
  • Two years experience in a healthcare environment or at least two years in the collection field
  • Proven sales ability considered a plus
  • Basic knowledge of patient accounting procedures and hospital policies
  • General knowledge of third‑party payers, collection laws, FDCPA rulings, and collection processes
  • Experience with automated collection systems
  • Knowledge of skip‑tracing techniques
  • Working knowledge of hospital patient accounting procedures, computers, calculators, telephones, and other equipment used in the Patient Financial Services area
