Summary:

Kidsport staff assists in the intra-hospital transport of pediatric and adult patients as directed by standard work.

Responsibilities:

  • Recognizes changes in patient status and notifies appropriate personnel during intra-hospital transports.
  • Assists with procedures and monitors patients during procedures according to departmental standards of care and practice.
  • Assists other staff members with inpatient care and movement/repositioning of patients. Follows the direction of Nurse regarding mode of transport for child.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psych/ social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
  • Other duties as required.

    Technical Expertise

  • Medical Assistant;
    Patient Care assistant;
    Nursing assistant or Student nurse experience is preferred
  • Experience in pediatrics is preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Transport software and phone communication preferred

    • Education and Experience

  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification: current Health Care Provider BLS training is required.
  • Years of experience: 6 months or more is preferred.
  • Years of experience supervising:
    None
