Dietitian Supervisor

Summit County Public Health is seeking a Dietitian Supervisor to work full-time (35 hours per week), Monday through Friday, in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. The Dietitian Supervisor leads the overall administration, strategic vision, and annual budgeting for the regional WIC program. This vital role ensures full compliance with state and federal regulations while managing and developing staff, evaluating program metrics, and building strategic partnerships across the community to improve public health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees day-to-day administration and operations of the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program.
  • Serves as the official WIC Nutrition Coordinator or Breastfeeding Coordinator following Ohio WIC Policy and Procedure.
  • Provides vision, strategic direction, and overall planning to advance program goals.
  • Directs the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nutritional policies and annual budgets.
  • Advises upper management on policy changes, strategic challenges, and program opportunities.
  • Ensures all program standards align with state and federal laws while enforcing regulatory compliance.
  • Implements vendor authorization policies and procedures to minimize fraudulent claims against the WIC program.
  • Directs the development of metrics to evaluate compliance and drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Cultivates relationships with internal and external partners to enhance service delivery and public health outcomes.
  • Monitors and analyzes proposed federal and state legislation affecting program objectives.
  • Represents WIC at community events and responds to inquiries from legislators, public officials, and stakeholders.
  • Manages staff performance, coaching, work assignments, leave approvals, and evaluations.

Compensation & Total Rewards

This is a full-time position with a standard 35-hour work week.

  • Compensation: $66,921.40 annually (equivalent to $36.77 per hour working 35 hours per week).

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics is required.
  • Must be registered through the Commission on Dietetic Registry with the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Must be a licensed dietitian through the Ohio Medical Board.
  • 3-5 years of experience in dietetics, public health or related field; familiar with public health concepts, practices and principles.
  • Must have certification as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), or Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), or Certified Lactation Specialist.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license, automobile availability, and liability insurance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace tools.
