- Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs
- Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' conditions
- Establish, revise, and evaluate individualized plans of care involving patients and families
- Perform therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques appropriate to patient age and condition
- Supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel
- Provide outpatient orthopedic and neurological physical therapy across Akron-area locations
- Work varying PRN shifts Monday–Friday between 7:00 AM and 7:30 PM based on clinic need
- Develop patient relationships while restoring function, improving mobility, and enhancing outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, coworkers, and support staff while prioritizing patient safety
- Bachelor's Degree or certificate
- Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
- Current State licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and maintain balance despite sudden load to support patients from falling
- Ability to meet heavy-level physical demands
- Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patients' arms and legs during therapeutic treatment
- Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to palpate muscle tension or monitor patient pulse
- Visual acuity to observe patient movements and read patient monitors
- Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families
- Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patients' symptoms and treatment responses
- Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
Demonstrates expertise in evaluating and conducting physical therapy treatment programs, establishing individualized care plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes. Holds current licensure and certifications essential for delivering safe and effective therapy interventions.
