The Essentials- Schedule:
Full-Time 40 hours per week | Monday-Friday | 7:45 AM-5:00 PM - Location:
Fairlawn, OH - Specialty:
Orthopedics, Hand & Wrist - Travel:
Occasional travel between clinic locations
- Provide clinical and administrative support to physicians and advanced practice providers in a busy orthopedic outpatient practice.
- Room patients, obtain and document medical histories, update medications and allergies, and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Prepare patient charts, process forms, review orders, initiate radiology orders for provider signature, and support accurate charge capture.
- Prepare injections and assist with orthopedic treatments, including suture and staple removal, dressing changes, wraps, cast and splint application/removal, and durable medical equipment (DME) fitting.
- Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, and patient follow-up care.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required. - Experience:
1 to 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred. Orthopedic or specialty clinic experience preferred. - License/
Certifications:
Current Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire. Accepted certifications include Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). BLS certification required within 3 months of hire. - Skills:
Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Experience with EMR systems preferred. Knowledge of orthopedic procedures, injections, casting, splinting, DME application, patient education, insurance authorizations, and clinical documentation preferred.
