RN Specialist - Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation

About This Role

As an RN Specialist in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing therapy for cardiac and pulmonary patients. This role is ideal for those who are passionate about patient-centered care and have experience in managing complex cardiac conditions.

• Evaluate patient's clinical status and provide recommended rehab services as per protocol.
• Utilize assessment skills in providing patient care in all phases of cardiac rehabilitation.
• Educate patients/families about cardiopulmonary diseases and treatments.
• Participate in case management and discharge planning conferences with interdisciplinary staff.
• Document patient progress and collaborate with healthcare team members to meet patient needs.
• Develop rehabilitative goals to prevent progression of heart and lung disease.
• Assist in coordinating patient care and developing new programs and educational materials.
• Assist in developing and evaluating performance improvement standards.
• Remain flexible working between all phases of rehabilitation and cardiopulmonary procedures.
• Attend continuing education programs to facilitate professional growth.

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related health field and/or a master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

• 2+ years of nursing experience in coronary care, critical care, and/or med/surg.
• 1+ year of cardiac and/or pulmonary rehabilitation experience preferred.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current state licensure in Ohio as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
