Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: 141 N. Forge St., Akron, OH 44304
Contract: 10/25/2026 – 12/26/2026
Duration: 9 weeks
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Setting: All-Adult Acute Care | Level 1 Trauma Center
We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide respiratory care services in an all-adult, acute-care Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
RRTs are preferred; however, CRT candidates may be considered if they are Registry Eligible and have appropriate respiratory care experience.
Education & Licensure:- Graduate of an AMA- or CoARC-approved Respiratory Therapy program
- Valid Ohio Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the State Medical Board of Ohio
- Must be RRT or CRT
- Current BLS certification
- Registry Eligible candidates may be considered based on experience
- Verify physician orders and assess the appropriateness of respiratory treatments.
- Assess, monitor, document, and evaluate patients' tolerance and response to respiratory therapy.
- Recognize and report unusual patient reactions or changes in condition to physicians, nurses, and appropriate staff.
- Perform respiratory and pulmonary procedures according to department policies and protocols.
- Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR/cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Set up, operate, and maintain respiratory care equipment.
- Administer medical gases and respiratory medications as ordered.
- Educate patients regarding treatments and address questions or concerns.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Participate in patient care teams and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with supply and medication stocking and complete required billing documentation.
- Participate in staff education, in-services, meetings, and conferences.
- Maintain competency in respiratory care procedures, equipment, and regulatory requirements.

- V60 – Noninvasive Ventilator
- Epoc – Handheld Blood Gas Analyzer
- Para Pac Plus – Transport Ventilator

- Experience with critical/acute-care respiratory patients is strongly relevant.
