Human Resources leadership opportunity within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role leads all onsite HR functions, including employee and labor relations, safety and risk management, talent acquisition, compliance, and workforce planning. Ideal for an experienced HR Manager with strong manufacturing and employee relations experience who thrives in a hands‑on, fast‑paced, multi‑shift operation and partners closely with plant leadership to drive engagement, compliance, and performance.
A global manufacturing organization in Wooster,OH area is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Plant Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions at a high-volume production facility. This role partners with plant management and serves as the HR leadership onsite.
Safety & Risk- Ensure compliance with plant safety policies and procedures. Lead safety investigations and corrective actions. Manage drug and alcohol testing programs. Oversee workers’ compensation claims and coordination with insurers and counsel.
- Full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles. Workforce planning with operations. Temporary labor management. New hire orientation. Student and internship program administration.
- Primary employee relations contact. Lead investigations, corrective actions, and terminations. Support open-door policy. Represent organization in unemployment, OSHA, and workers’ compensation hearings.
- Lead salaried performance review and goal‑setting process. Assess development needs. Lead engagement initiatives, surveys, etc, and community outreach. Administer tuition reimbursement program.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and paid sick leave. Manage leaves of absence and salary continuation. Maintain HR records and transactions. Support corporate HR initiatives and travel as required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred. 5+ years of progressive HR experience with 3+ years as an HR Manager in a manufacturing environment. Strong labor law knowledge. HRIS and ATS experience required. Benefits administration experience including open enrollment and COBRA. Familiarity with ISO/TS standards. Strong leadership, investigation, and communication skills. Ability to support multi‑shift operations and travel as needed.
