Overview

The Human Resources Generalist provides broad‑based HR support across the employee lifecycle, partnering with leaders and team members to support a positive, compliant, and high‑performing workplace. This role serves as a trusted HR resource for employee relations, recruiting and onboarding support, HR administration, compliance, performance management, benefits and leave coordination, and training initiatives. The ideal candidate is approachable, detail‑oriented, solutions‑focused, and able to balance day‑to‑day HR support with thoughtful guidance that helps leaders and employees navigate people‑related matters effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations:
    Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns, provide timely guidance, support issue resolution, and help foster a respectful, inclusive, and productive work environment.
  • Leader Support and

    Coaching:

    Partner with leaders to provide HR guidance related to performance management, coaching, corrective action, team effectiveness, and policy interpretation.
  • Recruiting and Onboarding:
    Support the hiring process by assisting with job postings, candidate coordination, offer preparation, and new hire orientation.
  • HR Administration and HRIS:
    Maintain accurate employee records, process employment changes, support HR transactions, and ensure timely documentation for new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, and other employment actions.
  • Compliance and Policy Support:
    Help ensure day‑to‑day HR practices are aligned with company policies and applicable employment laws. Support audits, reporting, documentation, and compliance activities as needed.
  • Benefits, Leave, Payroll, and Timekeeping Support:
    Respond to general employee questions related to benefits, payroll, timekeeping, and leave processes, partnering with subject matter experts as appropriate.
  • Performance Management:
    Support annual and ongoing performance processes, including goal setting, feedback discussions, performance documentation, and related leader and employee communications.
  • Training and Development:
    Assist with the development, coordination, and delivery of HR tools, training materials, and resources that support leader capability, employee development, and continuous learning.
  • Employee Engagement and Culture:
    Support initiatives that strengthen engagement, communication, recognition, and the overall employee experience.
  • Reporting and Analytics:
    Prepare and maintain HR reports, track key people metrics, identify trends, and provide insights to support HR and business decisions.
  • Other:
    Perform other duties and projects as assigned to support HR priorities and business needs.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience:

    Two or more years of progressive HR experience preferred, including experience supporting employee relations, HR administration, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, or performance management.
  • Preferred Experience:

    Experience working in a retail, multi‑unit, distribution, corporate, or fast‑paced service environment.
  • Knowledge:
    Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Experience with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, payroll or timekeeping platforms, and Microsoft Office tools preferred.
  • Certifications:

    SHRM‑CP, PHR, or other HR certification preferred but not required.
