Job Overview
The Ohio Department of Job & Family Services (ODJFS) is expanding its cloud capabilities and is seeking a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Administrator to support our growing presence in GCP. This role provides an opportunity to shape the agency’s GCP environment from the ground up, working alongside experienced Azure professionals and Dev Ops engineers.
Responsibilities- Assist in provisioning and managing GCP resources such as Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GKE, Cloud Storage, IAM, and VPC networking
- Validate and troubleshoot Terraform modules and deployment plans provided by external teams
- Support CI/CD pipelines for GCP-based applications using tools like Cloud Build, Git Hub Actions, or Azure Dev Ops
- Monitor GCP environments for performance, cost, and security using tools like Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Security Command Center
- Help define and enforce naming conventions, tagging strategies, and IAM policies as standards evolve
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support secure, scalable, and compliant cloud deployments
- Document procedures and contribute to the development of internal GCP best practices
- Manage code repositories and build policies in GCP Secure Source Manager
- Support, administer, and configure Dialogflow and Vertex AI related GCP services
- Confirm that Terraform scripts correctly define required GCP services and follow agency‑approved configurations
- Collaborate with Dev Ops and cloud engineering teams to troubleshoot failed Terraform deployments and assist in root‑cause analysis
- Option 1: 60 months experience in evaluating IT processes, recommending changes, or researching hardware/software solutions; 12 months experience in Cloud Services Administration
- Option 2: Completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 42 months experience in evaluating IT processes, recommending changes, or researching hardware/software solutions; 12 months experience in Cloud Services Administration
- Option 3: Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 36 months experience in evaluating IT processes, recommending changes, or researching hardware/software solutions; 12 months experience in Cloud Services Administration
- Option 4: Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above
Full‑time. Standard workdays Monday through Friday, hours between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
LocationHeadquartered in an ODJFS facility in one of the following cities:
Columbus, Akron, or Dayton. Determination based on proximity to applicant’s home address:

- Akron – 172 S. Broadway Street, Akron, OH 44308
- Dayton – 6680 Poe Avenue, Dayton, OH 45414
Occasional travel within the state of Ohio.
PayPosition located in State of Ohio’s OCSEA Pay Schedule, Pay Range 35. Starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, $40.59 per hour). Pay ranges increase with step progression and cost‑of‑living adjustments.
