Application Development Consultant

The Application Development Consultant is a well‑reasoned Information Technology (IT) professional, responsible for applying system‑wide solutions to complex project components. The consultant collaborates with Business Process Groups, contributes to detailed specifications, seeks guidance when precedents are unclear, and mentors junior staff. The role complements team meetings with value‑added input.

• Analyze, design, and develop new processes, programs, and configurations, accounting for system‑wide interrelationships.
• Provide system‑wide support and maintenance for a complex system or business process, maintaining and modifying existing components with current IT toolsets.
• Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve ambiguous problems by applying logical inference and persistence; collaborate with stakeholders, make joint analysis decisions, and perform necessary tasks to ensure data integrity and system stability.
• Complete life‑cycle testing (unit and integration) of all work processes, including cross‑platform interaction.
• Create applications and databases focused on data collection, supporting analysis, capture, design tools, library functions, reporting, request systems, and specification systems used in Tire Development Processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent experience (10 years of IT experience in lieu of a degree).
• 5 or more years of experience in relevant technical or business work.

• Understanding of skills needed in second business process area and basic cost/benefit analysis methods.
• Basic organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
• Active team participation with effective listening and collaboration.
• Achievement of IT objectives through use of approved standards and guidelines.
