Systems Analyst – Locations:
Dallas, TX or Akron, OH (Hybrid)
The Analyst is responsible for requirement gathering, business process design, development of use cases, testing, and post‑production support of business applications for Merchandising, Distribution, and Manufacturing.
Responsibilities- Strategy & Planning – Conduct business analysis, design systems, and manage medium‑scale application development projects. Define business functional requirements through interviews and facilitation. Collaborate with IT teams to develop solutions aligned with business needs. Establish project scope, objectives, and requirements with stakeholders. Develop knowledge of the change‑request process. Research and recommend tools and technologies to improve project performance and quality. Grow knowledge of best practices and market trends.
- System Implementation – Produce and maintain project deliverables such as entity‑model diagrams, detailed specifications, and project plans. Monitor project activity, resources, and costs to keep projects on scope, schedule, and budget. Communicate project status, scope, open items, issues, and risks to the team. Maintain accurate information in standard project‑tracking tools and documentation. Perform unit and system testing. Enforce quality, consistency, and accuracy standards for design, development, testing, and implementation.
Participate in technical walkthroughs to validate design. Migrate basic, low‑risk solutions into production. - Operational Management – Manage system support to identify, track, and resolve system issues with users, technical resources, and vendors. Perform technical analysis of system source code. Assist in training and support of end‑users on developed applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- General knowledge of business process workflows.
- Understanding of software development life‑cycle concepts.
- Proven experience gathering and documenting requirements.
- Proficiency in creating and executing test cases.
- Experience supporting user‑facing applications and back‑end batch processing systems.
- Experience creating Jira tickets and troubleshooting across teams.
- Strong skills interpreting and working with complex SQL queries and performing data analysis.
- Technical knowledge and development experience with Java, SQL scripting, and Oracle databases.
- Experience supporting job scheduling, batch processing, and system workflows.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, PL/SQL Developer, AWS, and Microsoft
365 (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
