In a collaborative project team environment, the Business Analyst defines functional requirements, develops documentation, creates user stories, and facilitates testing with business stakeholders. This role serves as a critical liaison between IT and business units, providing deep expertise in product lifecycle and inventory management-from distribution centers to stores and end customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements
. - Collaborate with project teams to ensure requirements are clearly defined and aligned with business needs.
- Identify and document impacted systems by working with system owners and technical teams.
- Conduct requirements walkthroughs with cross-functional teams and vendor partners.
- Assist vendor partners and internal teams in translating requirements into user stories
. - Work with project teams to prioritize functionality and support sprint planning.
- Develop comprehensive test plans based on business requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate testing activities with business stakeholders.
- Transition test plans to Testing Analysts and QE teams for execution.
- Provide guidance and support throughout the testing phase to ensure successful validation.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Experience working within the retail industry
. - Strong understanding of product flow from inventory management → distribution centers → stores → customers
. - Experience with the Atlassian suite
, especially Jira and Confluence. - Comfortable working in hybrid Agile and Waterfall environments
. - Proven ability to facilitate testing with business stakeholders.
- Strong skills in:
- Requirements gathering and analysis
- Process documentation
- Ensuring solutions meet business requirements
- Creating test plans from requirements
- Ability to drive initiatives and coordinate cross-functional efforts.
