Job Description & How to Apply Below

Sanctuary Software Studio, Inc. is seeking a thoughtful, detail-oriented QA/UX Team Member to join our team in Akron, Ohio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating software products from a user-centered perspective, identifying issues, and helping ensure that our applications are usable and align with defined goals. This role blends quality assurance, user experience, and product thinking across a variety of client and internal projects.

The QA/UX Team Member will be involved in testing applications throughout the development lifecycle, interpreting requirements and designs, and collaborating with team members to improve overall product quality. This position plays a key role in bridging communication between technical and non-technical perspectives. You’ll work closely with designers and engineers in a collaborative environment where questions, exploration, and learning are encouraged.

Knowledge of specific technologies is not required, but the QA/UX Team Member should have both the ability and desire to understand how systems work, identify issues, and apply thoughtful judgment to real-world use cases. We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including recent graduates or those transitioning into QA, UX, or product-focused roles.

This role is a full-time, salaried position that includes the benefits provided to all Sanctuary Software staff.

Core Responsibilities
  • Test hardware, web and mobile applications throughout all stages of development
  • Interpret design, technical documentation, and requirements as they relate to the project lifecycle
  • Identify bugs, edge cases, and breakdowns in the intended user experience
  • Help ensure products feel polished, intentional, and complete
  • Support releases, milestone reviews, and internal QA passes
  • Provide additional support across development, design, and content when needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred
  • 1–3+ years of experience in QA, UX, product, design, development or related disciplines preferred
  • Experience testing software applications or evaluating user experiences
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to write and organize clear, actionable notes
A Good Fit?
  • Curious about how apps, systems, and experiences work
  • Thoughtful, detail-oriented, and observant
  • Able to clearly explain problems, not just identify them
  • Care about the end user’s experience
  • Reliable, accountable, and able to follow through
  • A core question you’ll be thinking about is: “Does this make sense to a real person using it, based on the goals we’ve defined?”
Helpful Experience
  • QA or testing
  • Technical writing or copywriting
  • Experience with AI tools or systems
  • Social media or content marketing
  • Familiarity with testing tools or frameworks
