Cargill is seeking an Operations System Specialist to optimize manufacturing systems and processes. In this role, you will maintain and configure production and inventory systems, monitor data flows, and troubleshoot system issues to reduce downtime and improve efficiency. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and IT teams to implement system enhancements, standardize workflows, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include user training, documentation, reporting on KPIs, and ensuring data accuracy, safety, and compliance in a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and configure manufacturing operations and inventory systems
- Monitor system performance, data flows, and production KPIs
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and data issues to reduce downtime
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and IT on system changes
- Support continuous improvement and process standardization projects
- Develop and maintain system documentation and procedures
- Train end users on systems, tools, and best practices
- Ensure data integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Generate reports and dashboards for operations leadership
- Support testing and implementation of new system features
Required Skills
- Manufacturing execution systems (MES)
- ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Production planning and scheduling
- Data analysis and reporting
- SQL or similar query tools
- System configuration and testing
- Process mapping and documentation
- Continuous improvement / Lean
- Basic understanding of OT/IT in plants
- Troubleshooting technical and process issues
