Job Overview:- The Buyer plays a key role in supporting procurement and supply chain activities by sourcing materials, equipment, and supplies required for business operations. This position is responsible for evaluating vendor proposals, negotiating pricing and service agreements, and ensuring purchases align with operational requirements, budget objectives, and organizational standards. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers while maintaining an efficient and cost-effective procurement process.
- The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and supporting the procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies while ensuring cost-effective and timely purchasing processes. This role evaluates vendor quotations, pricing, service offerings, and contractual terms to identify the most suitable suppliers and optimize value for the organization.
- Leveraging professional experience and sound judgment, the incumbent plans, prioritizes, and executes a variety of procurement-related activities while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting operational requirements. The role requires knowledge of procurement principles, industry practices, and vendor management, as well as the ability to analyze information and make informed recommendations.
- Working under general supervision, the Purchasing Specialist exercises a degree of initiative, creativity, and independent decision-making to address purchasing challenges and support business objectives. The position typically reports to a Supervisor or Manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field is preferred.
- 4-7 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, vendor evaluation, and supplier negotiations.
- Ability to analyze quotations, contracts, and procurement data to support decision-making.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and procurement-related systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
