The Opportunity

This is an open position with First Energy Service Co., a subsidiary of First Energy Corp. (FEU). The Supervisor of the Project Management Project Controls Scheduling Team is responsible for managing a team of schedulers and overseeing project schedules for a nearly $3B capital portfolio. In addition to providing leadership to the scheduling team, the supervisor will lead various initiatives and support analytics requests from the Construction and Design Services Executive Leadership Team.

The supervisor will also play a crucial role in promoting and fostering a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the team. This position requires strong project management skills, technical knowledge in Primavera P6, and the ability to develop and mentor team members to achieve their career goals.

Responsibilities
  • Team Management:
    • Manage and provide guidance to a team of schedulers, ensuring effective utilization of resources and adherence to project schedules.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes collaboration, growth, and employee development.
    • Collaborate with team members to create individual development plans and provide guidance on achieving their goals.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
    • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and provide resources and tools to enhance skill sets.
    • Encourage a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the team and promote a culture of respect and fairness.
  • Project Schedule Management:
    • Oversee the development, maintenance, and analysis of project schedules using Primavera P6.
    • Ensure schedules are aligned with project requirements, timelines, and objectives.
    • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and risks.
    • Conduct regular schedule reviews and provide reports, as requested, to the Leadership Team.
  • Leadership and Initiatives:
    • Lead various initiatives and analytics requests from Executive Leadership, utilizing scheduling expertise and analytical skills.
    • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify process improvements and implement best practices in scheduling and project management.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in project scheduling methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 years experience in project scheduling and management, with knowledge of Primavera P6 software.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams in a project‑driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex scheduling data and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
  • Strong leadership abilities and the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
