This is a full-time, on-site position located in Akron, Ohio.

Summary

This position is a key role on Transmission team reporting to the Director, Transmission Finance. The primary office location for this role will be in Akron, OH. The successful candidate will support financial planning, reporting and analysis for the Transmission segment. This leader plays a pivotal role in providing strategic insights to support operations and finance, with the ability to communicate informed, actionable guidance aligned with organizational goals by building a strong foundation of business partnerships.

This position serves as the primary communication link on financial performance between Transmission Leadership, Utility Leadership, FP&A, the Controller’s Department, Treasury, FET Finance and various other groups.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe workplace for coworkers and the community based upon knowledge of potential hazards and industry regulations/requirements.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting processes/deliverables for Transmission. This includes, but is not limited to, detailed O&M and capital planning, full P&L ownership, balance sheets, cash flows and credit metrics and coordination across multiple departments, Brookfield and our Joint Venture to ensure plans are executable and meet strategic goals and driving accountability for results.
  • Primary interface with key stakeholders on Transmission’s budget, forecast, analysis, and performance, including Utility Leadership, external stakeholders and numerous other departments across the company. This includes establishing a clear connection between Transmission financial plans and performance with First Energy’s, Brookfield’s, and Valley Link’s strategic goals.
  • Overseeing reporting requirements of First Energy, the FET board, Brookfield and Valley Link are critical aspect of this role. This includes creation of Board and strategy retreat materials, deep dives of specific topics, scenario planning including long-term forecasts beyond a typical forecast horizon.
  • Create and review certain SEC filings and disclosures as they relate to FET as they are an SEC registrant. Additionally, create and review SEC filings and disclosures as they relate to FE as part of the Stand-Alone Transmission reporting segment.
  • Assist in certain accounting activities such as invoice approvals and accruals.
  • This role also includes support for non-stand-alone transmission (e.g. WV, MD and NJ) activities and certain substation reporting and analysis.
  • Build a business partner model and mindset to facilitate communication, increase business knowledge of teams, identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and drive results. This includes full P&L, balance sheet, cash flows and other financial performance accountability; identifying, communicating, and executing strategic insights; and developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead team of analysts responsible for direct support of business partners. Oversee team in day-to-day processes, including cost/project management and compliance activities. Provide growth opportunities for analysts to develop well-rounded financial analysis skills and become influential business partners.
  • Create and lead a decision support function to provide strategic insights and recommended actions based on thorough analysis and understanding of operations, finance and regulatory strategies and expectations.
