INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE
1ST SHIFT
AKRON
$25.00-$28.00 AN HOUR
The Maintenance Technician will support the day-to-day operations of coil CTL lines, slitting lines, leveler, and buffing lines through the work order process. The Maintenance Technician will assist with keeping all production and material handling equipment, including building and grounds, in top operating condition.
JOB DESCRIPTION- Possess an overall understanding of the normal operating conditions of the buffing lines, CTL lines, slitting line, ARKU leveler and all material handling equipment.
- Follows established technical specifications on preventative maintenance of all steel and aluminum coil processing equipment and associated accessories.
- Strong aptitude with the ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, schematic, blueprint, or schedule form.
- Ensure housekeeping is maintained in your work and surrounding areas.
- Responsible for supporting the operations through hand tool maintenance, machine maintenance, and building and grounds maintenance.
- Work with Maintenance Team and/or Plant Manager to schedule maintenance activities based on priority of maintenance work orders.
- PM service of machinery, forklifts, cranes, air compressors, and general building and grounds.
- Ability to measure to verify conformance to specifications, using tape measure, micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, rulers, etc.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- 3-5 years’ maintenance experience in metal processing.
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- The ability to quickly troubleshoot and repair mechanical, diagnostics, pneumatic, air compression, hydraulics, electrical system, and automation system issues as they arise.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments – hydraulics, electrical, and general mechanical.
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment: drill press, lathe, mill, welder, etc.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
