Job Description
As an Extruder Operator, you will oversee multiple plastic extrusion lines, managing both line setup and teardown responsibilities. You will follow formulations and work orders accurately for production runs, troubleshoot production line issues as they arise, and clean feeders, dies, and barrels throughout your shift. Additionally, you will stage materials correctly to ensure smooth production and assist with various tasks throughout the facility as needed.
Responsibilities- Oversee multiple plastic extrusion lines.
- Manage line setup and teardown responsibilities.
- Accurately follow formulations and work orders for production runs.
- Troubleshoot production line issues as they arise.
- Clean feeders, dies, and barrels throughout the shift.
- Correctly stage materials to ensure smooth production.
- Assist with various tasks throughout the facility as required.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Previous manufacturing experience required (minimum of 3 years).
- Understanding of shop mathematics and ability to perform accurate measurements.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or GED.
Skills & Qualifications
- Forklift operation experience.
- Experience with extrusion and plastic mixing.
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs throughout the shift.
- Previous material handling experience is a plus but not required.

Work EnvironmentYou will be working a first shift with some flexibility, either from 5:30am-3:30pm or 6am-4pm, Monday to Thursday. The facility has around 30 employees, with approximately 15 in production roles. Although the work environment is non-climate controlled and can get very dirty, it provides paid lunch breaks, and showers are required before leaving each day. Embrace the opportunity to be cross-trained and gain exposure to various roles within the team.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Akron, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
