CNC Waterjet Operator
We are seeking a skilled CNC Waterjet Operator to join our team in Kent, OH. This role involves operating and maintaining CNC Waterjet cutting systems, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and collaborating with various teams to achieve manufacturing goals.
Responsibilities- Operate and maintain a CNC Waterjet cutting system.
- Read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings.
- Prepare, program, and nest parts for efficient production runs.
- Inspect completed parts and verify dimensional accuracy to quality standards.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on Waterjet equipment.
- Troubleshoot machine and fabrication issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Stockroom, and Production teams to meet manufacturing goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve fabrication efficiency, workflow, and throughput.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support additional fabrication and production-related activities as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering/manufacturing drawings and blueprints.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working in a fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions and plans in English.
- Ability to read tape measures and understand precision measurements, including fractions down to 32nds and 64ths of an inch.
- Knowledge of sheet metal tools and fabrication equipment.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work overtime based on production needs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience operating CNC Waterjet equipment.
- Experience with CNC machinery such as laser cutters, machining centers, routers, or similar automated manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with part nesting, setup, and production optimization.
- Preventative maintenance experience on manufacturing equipment.
- Experience supporting custom manufacturing or engineered-to-order products.
- Continuous improvement or process improvement experience.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and production teams.
- Experience working in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Akron, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
