The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, established in 1982, has a long-standing commitment to providing emergency food to individuals and families in need. Serving eight counties in Northeast Ohio, the Foodbank supports nearly 500 hunger-relief programs, including food pantries, hot meal sites, and shelters, to address community food insecurity. As a vital resource, the Foodbank distributes food and other essential items to partner organizations, ensuring critical support reaches neighborhoods where it’s most needed.
Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role based in Akron, OH, for an Institutional Giving Specialist. The role involves securing funding through institutional partnerships, preparing grant applications and proposals, and managing relationships with foundations, corporations, and key stakeholders. The position implements strategies to sustain and grow funding, ensures compliance with funding requirements, and collaborates with internal teams to align initiatives with organizational goals.
Qualifications- Experience in grant writing, proposal development, and securing funding from institutions
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills to engage with foundations, corporations, and key stakeholders
- Organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
- Proficiency in research and data analysis to identify and target funding opportunities
- Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising strategies and donor relations
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, or other related fields preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of hunger-relief or human services is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-centered environment
