** Youth Minister (Part-Time)**## Position Summary The Youth Minister leads and coordinates the parish's ministry to middle school and high school youth, fostering their spiritual, intellectual, and social growth through prayer, catechesis, service, fellowship, and evangelization. Working closely with the Pastor, parish staff, volunteers, and families, the Youth Minister creates meaningful opportunities for young people to encounter Christ, deepen their Catholic faith, and become active members of the parish community.
This is a
** part-time position (15–25 hours per week)
** requiring a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, retreats, and parish events.
---## Essential Responsibilities
* Plan and lead youth ministry programs for middle and high school students.
* Coordinate youth group gatherings, Bible studies, retreats, service projects, mission experiences, and social events.
* Foster a welcoming environment that encourages faith formation, discipleship, and participation in parish life.
* Build relationships with youth and accompany them in their faith journey.
* Encourage participation in Sunday Mass, the sacraments, and parish ministries.
* Collaborate with the Director of Faith Formation on Confirmation retreats and youth formation initiatives.
* Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers while ensuring compliance with diocesan Safe Environment requirements.
* Communicate regularly with parents and support families as the primary educators of their children's faith.
* Maintain attendance records, permission forms, ministry communications, and budget resources.
* Participate in parish staff meetings and support parish-wide liturgies and special events.
---## Qualifications### Required
* Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church.
* Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
* Passion for youth ministry and evangelization.
* Knowledge of Catholic doctrine, Scripture, and Church teaching.
* Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to relate effectively to adolescents, families, and volunteers.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and digital communication platforms.### Preferred
* Bachelor's degree or coursework in Theology, Religious Education, Pastoral Ministry, Youth Ministry, or a related field.
* Previous experience in Catholic youth ministry, parish ministry, or religious education.
