In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the STNA provides personal care needs of residents, including feeding, bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance. The STNA also assists in activities delegated by the nurse and supports independent living for residents wherever possible.
Qualifications- Ohio State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) preferred.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
- Ability to work weekend/holiday rotation.
- Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds independently and >50 pounds with assistance.
- Dexterity to feed, bathe, and assist residents.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach at different angles.
- Will walk, stand, and sit intermittently throughout the day.
- Understanding of infection control principles.
- Proficiency in therapeutic communication.
- Professional and empathetic communication with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Prepared to assist in emergency situations.
