Job Summary
Coordinates and supervises daily clinical activities interfacing with front desk and nursing staff to maintain quality patient care. Directly involved in the growth and development of nursing personnel. Provides nursing coverage for all areas when needed; assists with direct patient care designated as RN responsibilities; assists research faculty and residents in the development and implementation of research protocols. Precepts new clinical‑based employees during orientation, completes and tracks competencies, implements patient education and PI protocols, and completes performance appraisals yearly for clinical‑based employees.

- Assist with direct patient care as an RN.
- Assist research faculty and residents with research protocol development and implementation.
- Precept new clinical‑based employees during orientation and track competencies.
- Implement patient education and PI protocols.
- Complete performance appraisals yearly for clinical‑based employees.
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Associate’s degree is acceptable only if a BSN is obtained within three (3) years of employment.
- Graduated from a professional nursing program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
- Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio.
- Three (3) years of current professional nursing experience, including experience in an ambulatory care setting or equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience in patient education, pediatric, and obstetrical care (preferred).
- Strong clinical skills including IVs, med port access, and 12‑lead EKGs.
- Ability to acquire clinical knowledge and skill in pediatric immunizations and obstetric care through classes and/or online training within six months of hire.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with physicians, patients, vendors, and others.
- Team player who offers honest and constructive feedback, supports team goals, and encourages fellow team members.
- Proficiency in computerized data systems (e.g., Clinical Data Repository, online reports), spreadsheets, and word processing (MS Office preferred).
- Knowledge and experience in computer‑based data systems and documentation tools.
- Ability to effectively interact with diverse patient populations, respecting their self‑respect and dignity.
- Sedentary:
Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
