Position: LPN Days

Position:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Merriman Care Community - Akron, OH 44303.

Employment type:

Full‑time, Day Shift – 12 hour.

Salary: $26.00 – $35.00 hourly.

Education required:

High School.

Travel:
None.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic nursing care to residents, including administering medications, wound care, and assisting with personal hygiene.
  • Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities to the supervising nurse or physician.
  • Assist with feeding, dressing, and mobility, ensuring residents’ comfort and safety.
  • Follow individualized care plans and provide care according to residents’ needs and medical conditions.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Monitor residents for adverse medication reactions and report concerns.
  • Document patient care accurately, including vital signs, treatments, and any changes in condition.
  • Communicate with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Participate in care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Follow infection control protocols, use personal protective equipment, and maintain a safe environment.
  • Advocate for residents, provide emotional support, and promote a positive, compassionate environment.
Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited LPN or LVN program.
  • Current and active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Previous experience in healthcare or long‑term care preferred but not required; new graduates welcomed.
  • Strong clinical and patient‑care skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Compassionate and patient‑focused approach to care.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and nursing documentation.
