We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Cardiology Prep & Recovery team. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac, peripheral vascular, and electrophysiology procedures.
The role includes pre-procedure preparation, post-procedure monitoring, patient education, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide nursing care for pre-operative and post-operative cardiac procedures.
Perform patient assessments, monitoring, and documentation using the nursing process.
Monitor patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and vascular procedures.
Assist physicians and clinical teams during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Provide patient and family education regarding cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and recovery.
Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient responses to procedures.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation.
Ensure compliance with hospital safety standards and infection control protocols.
Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Licensure
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license State of Ohio
Experience
Minimum 2 years of RN clinical experience
Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiology, or Critical Care preferred
Required Certifications
BLS Basic Life Support
ACLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of cardiac procedures and patient monitoring
Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic data
Excellent communication and patient education skills
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team
Commitment to patient safety and quality care standards
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, move, and assist patients as required
Ability to maintain near visual acuity for monitoring equipment and patient indicators
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
Compliance Requirements
Drug screening and background check
Immunizations including:
COVID-19
MMR
Hepatitis B
Influenza
Varicella
Tdap
TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA)
Fit test and health clearance documentation
