RN – Acute Care Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery

About This Role

As an RN in the Acute Care Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery unit, you will provide direct nursing care to patients recovering from complex cardiovascular procedures. This role is ideal for those looking to make a significant impact on patient care while gaining hands‑on experience in a collaborative environment.

• Location: Akron, OH
• Facility: Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital
• Schedule: Full‑time, Day shift (7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.)

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involving patients and families in care plans.
• Coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Administer treatments and medications, and document care provided.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes.
• Contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
• Delegate tasks/assignments and serve as a resource person.
• Pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications.

• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program) required. Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience: Experience in acute care preferred.

  Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within the first year of employment.
