Advanced Practitioner; PA, NP, CNS - Neurology | Unity Health Network

Position Overview

Unity Health Network, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking an Advanced Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Clinical Nurse Specialist) to join the Department of Neurology & Neuroscience in Akron, OH.

As a member of the Optum Care Delivery team, you will play an integral role in delivering high‑quality neurological care to our patients.

• Outpatient neurology with minimal call and light rounding.
• Practice at the comprehensive Neuroscience Center located in West Akron, OH.
• Serve a large referring base, supported by the Optum Centers of Excellence network.
• Full‑time (1.0 FTE) schedule, five days per week (40 hours).
• Opportunity for growth, leadership, and teaching when timing aligns.
• Work as part of a 6–8 person clinical team of physicians and advanced practitioners.
• Collaborate with ancillary services including Sleep, Neuro Diagnostics, Infusion, and Neuro Psychology.
• Participate in a team‑based approach to achieve the best patient outcomes through value‑based care.
• Order lab studies and imaging, identify differential diagnos cess, assess disease severity, and determine need and timing for patient evaluation.
• Consult with other health team members regarding proposed treatment guidelines; implement plans safely and effectively, using sound judgment to establish priorities and manage patient care; record visits in a concise, clear, logical manner; evaluate plan effectiveness.
• Develop and provide educational materials and/or programs to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

• Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited university or program.
• Current state license to practice in Ohio, or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Certified as a Nurse Practitioner through ANCC/AANP, or ability to obtain certification.
• DEA license for Ohio, or willingness to obtain before start.
• BLS certification (minimum).
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in nursing care or relevant medical care.

• At least 1–3 + years of experience as an Advanced Practitioner within Neurology.
• Experience working in a team‑based model of care.
• Fluency and adaptability in EMR systems & technology.
• Experience in Neuro, Sleep Medicine, and/or Movement Disorders.
• Comfortable with making decisions, creating care plans, and delegating responsibilities.

• Competitive salary range: $109,500 to $164,000 annually (based on full‑time employment).
