RN – Dual Diagnosis Unit (BHP
6) – Full‑Time
Work Schedule: 36 hrs/week, 7 p‑7:30 a, every other weekend/holiday
Unit Size: 16‑bed, private rooms.
Target Nurse‑to‑Patient Ratio: 1:6 or 1:7 (subject to change).
Primary Patient Population: Patients with both mental health needs and substance use disorder.
Highlights- Empathetic, compassionate, patient, and observant with a trauma‑informed approach.
- Brand new, state‑of‑the‑art Behavioral Health Pavilion (opened January 2023).
- $5/hr shift differential for nights; $1/hr for weekends.
- 12‑month nurse residency program for new grads.
Guided by knowledge of the basic principles of nursing, utilizes evidence and nursing theory in delivering patient‑centered care. Provides, coordinates, and delegates nursing care while managing resources to achieve optimum health outcomes for patients, families, and the community.
Formal Education Required- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Applicants with an Associate’s degree considered but required to obtain BSN within three (3) years.
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (CCNE or ACEN).
- Current license to practice registered nursing in Ohio.
- PRN RN: at least one year of recent practice in the relevant area.
- Weekend option positions: one year of related RN experience.
- Additional experience or preparation may be required for specialty units.
- Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients; manual and finger dexterity; eye‑hand coordination.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions or irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other hazards common to clinical environments.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. RNs new to critical care, progressive care, telemetry, PACU, or ED must complete Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within first six months.
- Population‑specific competencies (e.g., PALS, NIH, Non‑Violet Crisis Intervention, etc.) may be required.
- Effective interaction with diverse populations, respecting self‑respect, dignity, and diversity.
- Heavy:
May need to exert 50‑100 pounds of force occasionally, 25‑50 pounds frequently, or 10‑20 pounds continuously to move objects.
Salary: $33.75 /hr – $53.00 /hr (base rate, exclusive of bonuses or differentials).
